Thinking Activity on : " HAMLET"

Thinking Activity on "HAMLET"

Kenneth branagh's 'HAMLET' based on 'HAMLET' by William Shakespeare.

INTRODUCTION :-

Everyone passing through Comedy and tragedy during the life but we don't like painful condition in our lives. Mostly due to our mistake, there is a lot of pain in life. A tragedy is generally for that person who has lot of good virtue and quality but also he has one poor habit and quality it's called "Tragic flaw ". The same condition in Denmark and Shakespeare wrote many tragedy. His most famous tragedy is that the tragedy of Hamlet 'Prince of Denmark'. He change the flat history by the way of imagination words. So, let's talk about "Hamlet".

*Major characters of Hamlet

1. King Hamlet - Father of Hamlet
2. Prince Hamlet - son of the Late king
3. Gertrude - Queen of Denmark
4. Claudius - king of Denmark
5.Polonius - The lord Chamberlain
6. Laertes - son of Polonius
7. Ophelia - son of Polonius
8. Rosencrants & Guildenstern - friend of Hamlet

(1) How faithful is the movie the original plan?

I think that movie is much faithful for me because I have not read original full book of Hamlet by Shakespeare. But, after discussion during the movie screening I can say that many scenes are added by director which are not describe in real Play.

Ex:- In Shakespeare Hamlet there is not a statue and camera roll on statue but it is happened in film

Film showed the glory of kingdom but in book we don't find any type of writing about court relates

Kenneth branath had showed the physical relationship between Hamlet and Ophelia but in play it is not mentioned and in original play we can't find any type of detail about dressing sense and in film all courtyard with good clothes.

(2) After watching the movie, have your perception about play, characters or situation changed?

The director of the movie wonderful present the themes, plot, characters and scenes we see that two different situation in many scenes.

Ex. Beginning of the movie we see that Claudius, Gertrude and all people are celebrated the wedding function but another side we see Hamlet in black cloth and he stand alone and he think that "why my mother marry to my uncle? "

(3) Do you feel 'aesthetic delight' while watching the movie?  If you, exactly when did it happen? If no, can you explain with reasons?

Yes, when Hamlet was died and his words were gave me aesthetic delight "The rest is silence" it was gave me aesthetic delight

(4) Do you feel ' catharsis' while or after watching movie?

Yes, I feel catharsis while watching movie in act-4 when Hamlet distinct to take revenge. Another scene is that Ophelia became mad Ophelia's madness sorrowful condition. Hamlet also says abusing words for her. She suffered internally in first act Hamlet say.

' had must hold my tongue,
    Break my heart! "

(5) Does screening of movie help you better understand of the play?

Yes, screening of movie help me a lot in better understand of the play because in play we can't see facial expressions, dressing sense, movements of characters. But in movie we can see many type of facial expressions like anger, pity, fear, smile.

I think that everything not covered through only reading so it is necessary to watch movie. Everyone can't read original because of it is too bulky. So it is better to watch movie to know about the structure of play after watching movie my imagination is little bit changed and I can better understand the play. And also with the help of movie screening i can write about questions answer's through the imagination.

(6) was there any particular scene or moment in the movie that you will cherish lifetime?

The beautiful and innocent character 'Ophelia' in the movie she did not raise her voice, I think she love Hamlet more than anyone but we see that accidentally Hamlet kill her father and she listened that Hamlet kill her father. She did not take any decision and she did not understand the situation and at last we see that she is mad and committed suicide. Ophelia's character will cherish my whole lifetime.

(7) If you are director, what changes would you like to make in the remarking of movie on Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'?

If i am director so first of all i want to change last scene to create happy ending and Hamlet marry to Ophelia and Gertrude do not drink poison.

(8) In the beginning of the movie, camera rolls over the statue of king Hamlet out side the Elsinore caste. The movie ends with the similar sequence wherein the statue of the king Hamlet is hammered down to the dust, what sort of symbolism do you read in this? (clue : in book Ix "paradise Lost". Satan reflects on his revenge motive :"But what will not ambition and revenge; Descent to? Who aspire must down as low; as high he soared, obnoxious, firs or last, to basest things, Revenge, at first through sweet bitter are long back on itself recoils " is it not king Hamlet ambition to avenge his death responsible for the downfall of his kingdom which is symbolically pictured in last scene?

This creativity by director, maybe he tries to say that revenge is never end with happiness. In begging of the movie camera rolls over the statue of king Hamlet outside the Elsinore castle and the end of the movie with the similar sequence the statue is hammered down to dust. So we can says that there were no remain heir of king Hamlet and maybe he had ends of rule over Denmark.

(9) while studying the play through movie which approach do you find more applicable to the play? Why? Give reasons with illustration

Here are the approach which i find more applicable to the play

* Moral and philosophical approach
*Psychological approach
*Feminist approach
*Cultural approach
*Mythological approach
*Historical and Biographycal approach

I found pshychological approach is more applicable for the play. Hamlet don't want to became king but due to his father's ghost the decides to take revenge of his father's murder Hamlet's delay to take a revenge also king of psychological approach. In the play Hamlet is suffered from "Oedipus complex " he felt hatred for his mother's marriage with his uncle. We found him as a mad person in the play.

(10) which of the above mentioned approaches (in pre viewing task) appeals you more than other? Why? Give reasons.

I found feminist approach more than others approach because we see that male characters are more powerful that female characters. Ophelia did not take any decision against her father or brother and she did not raise her voice, her father and brother both are treat her like a DOLL.

So i think feminist approach appeals more than others.

Film screening on movie : LAGAAN

MOVIE REVIEW "LAGAAN"

Here I am sharing my experience on movie "LAGAAN"

Story based on 1893 "chapaner". This story protegonist is a normal farmers son become a leader And solve the problem of village

In this movie both the side we find some "jaichand" and "vibhushan" like Elizabeth

In this movie we find triangle of love story but just because of language problem the protagonist never understand that this teacher of master for coach Elizabeth love him but just because of language in never understand.

In this movie we find caste system, also we find that the our Indian typical moralities for caste.

PATRIOTISM

If we look at film only from upper layer, than we can find the patriotic idea, that nation, they don't won't to obey the Britishers for only reason, they don't wan't  to play taxes to them. They won't freedom, any type of strict or cruel rule, they can do anything for their pride of nation Bhuvan accept the challenge given by Russell just to cancel the double taxation which was landed over the villagers by them.

TEAMWORK AND LEADERSHIP

In order to analyze the character of Bhuvan i begin with identifying qualities and characteristic with. Highlight him as person who is capable of leading. Communication is the key to be a great leader. The other leadership qualities but it he fails to communicate well he will never be great leader. The most valuable asset a leader is honesty. He must always be honest. Another part of this features is integrity once a leader compromises his or her integrity, He is lost, A good leader must always keep motivating his roommate.

BRITISH RULE IN INDIA

In this movie director present the real condition of Indian people under the British rule. They treat Indian people as slave as them, beat they and behaved very rudely. In movie the captain of British people Andrew Russell told that "you Indian people is like our shoes" they, collected the lagaan from Indian farmers and they gave on past of this tax to king of chapter, puransign zala.

SUBALTERN

Subaltern mean marginalisation in caste, gender, race, etc by hegemony of power. Power and other are inferior .This little beat concept about subaltern. So, in this movie we can see various aspects like gender, caste culture through subaltern study. Trough caste base there is one marginalized character his name is Kachara belong to lower class further, then Bhuvan elect Kachara in the village team then. Teammate deny to take him as team member because he is untouchable.

ELIZABETH

Elizabeth helps the village people to understand and leader the cricket. She going against her own brother. She thinks that her another doing injustice with village people. So it shows the good side of Elizabeth because his intentions are good. She helps the villager to learn the game

LOVE TRIANGLE

At very shallow level if we look this film is also some like other Bollywood film. Which has love theme as importantly as other main theme. Here in this film also Gauri who is living in village who loves Bhuvan. Both are living in same village. Bhuvan also loves Gauri one other person who also lives in same village Lakha loves Gauri. Elizabeth, sister of Russell also fall in love with Bhuvan, so we can find heartbroken Elizabeth and jealous Lakha.

Thinking Activity on T P kailasam's "The purpose"

Write about your favorite teacher give some reasons for it

Respected ma'am

*Here I am talking on my views on your task

* Here I am going to talk about my one of favorite teacher.

My favorite teacher name Bhimji sir. He is my primary teacher. He is very honest and good  natured man. He also aware us about the current situation, matter and many Time inspire us. He always clear our doubts on problems. All are enjoying your learning English during sir's lecture. No one get boring. He was taught me 6th std. He was very friendly and smart. Always he was taught perfect technics. Because student are understand perfect and achieve goals. One day he was come to my home and he was said my father your daughter is nice student. I am so happy that time.

*How are you as student? Think and write.

I think as a student I have to obedient student. I am sometimes creative and sometimes dull. When I started my study I am very shy. And than I started my higher education I am a little creative student and sincere student. That time I am always accited to my work and other creativity. And than I started my B.A degree I m so worried about my lecture. I have to obey the rules and regulations of my institute moreover i have to always present in class, as a student I should respect my all teachers.

*What is difference between the education system in past and today's? Take help of your parents to write this.

Here first I would like to take about my parents education, for this i  take my parents help. They tell me that in thire time there is no pressure of education. No one notice that whether he or she is studying well or not they have lots of homework to do at home. After the school they are not free they don't go in tuition or classes because that time they have no more money pay to other teachers and parents not allowed to go extra coaching class they have to give ony two exams which is years. There is no building of schools, no facilities in classrooms, No electricity device like computer, mobile, study on projector, so all getting free and good education in their time to study till 10th or 12th enough.

Now, I am talking about our generation education. This time all students are very busy to in our work. We have always suffer to lengthy syllabus and parent's pressurized to study and better education. We have always busy in our phones in our task. And we have compulsory 80% present in our school, college. We have costly mobile phone, laptop, protector and data connection and government give free Wi-Fi system. Students are do not read properly that's why we have watching movies and videos, odio connected to syllabus. We can give unit test, weekly test on online. We have to face many test or exam during on year. We have a semesters system in this time education is more costly we have to spend more money on tuition classes.

Thinking Activity on post truth

POST TRUTH

Meaning of  post truth:-

" Relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief "

Post truth world is choosen in 2016 because of during that period most of experience of fact news by the political party.

" TRUTH IS ALWAYS BITTER "

So people can't easily catch or believe in real truth. People can easily connect with belief and rumours rather than truth.

Sometimes post truth is base on prejudices for example if any attack happened on our country we blame most of times of Muslim community only, so this can be also example of prejudices in people's minds.

Thinking Activity on Dr Faustus

Dr. Faustus : A play by Christopher Marlow

This play is directed by Mathew duster for glob theatre.

Ans:-1 The play directed by Mathew duster for glob theatre and with this scene signifies that here in the scene devil character Lucifer weak than Lucifer. Lucifer is most powerful of evilness. His big wings is symbol of devils. During this scene God is fail to save Dr Faustus and metaphysical is called also servant of Lucifer so that Lucifer is king of devils.

Ans:-2 I believe that God is not physically present in the play but through good angels and old man God sends his massage to Dr Faustus that don't give your soul to evil otherwise definitely your fall will be but Dr Faustus is against of good friend and he don't listen them and only thinks about black magic to get more knowledge.

Ans:-3 Lucifer is son of the Daedalus and they were prisoners in one king. Daedalus was a master and telanted so he was becoming a two wax wings that escape for prison and flies in the sky. Lucifer was a young man so he was a very highest fly and very near sun. And he was left in lending in ground. He was forget this wings becoming in wax that type of play in the Dr Faustus. He was a forgot a good.

Ans:-4 The image shows that God is the creator of the hole world and everything is running on his command and we can't change in this I can not explain properly this picture. But it is all about nature a man is falls down in the river water.

Discussion on Mario Vargas Llosa

Mario Vargas Llosa

Jorge Mario Vargas Pedro Vargas Llosa, 1st marquis of Vargas Llosa, more commonly known as Mario Vargas Llosa, is a Peruvian writer, politician, journalist, essayist and college professor. Vargas Llosa is one of Latin Americans most significant novelist and essayist, and one of the leading writer of his generation.

His novel :-
                     1. The time of the hero -1962
                     2. The feast of the goat -2000
                     3. The Bad girl - 2006
                     4. Aunt Julia and the scrip writer-1977
                    5. The green house -1966
                    6. The neighbour

* Here are some ideas which I like most from the interview :-

1. If you respect literature you must accept not only the very idealist, altruist of human beings but also the infernal of them.

2. Most of the time all writers are autobiographical in some writer, thesis more explicit and obvious, in other more hidden.

3. I am convinced that the feminist movements voice should be heard, but he don't accept this idea of censorship for literature or for culture in general.

4. He campure history and literature with coin.  I think that he give most equality both subject. He give many example of these subject so we can easily understand which type history and literature same.
